The ICC Women's Cricket World Cup standings are taking shape. Here's how all eight teams are poised as we near the pointy end of the group stage.

Race for semi finals hots up at World Cup

Australia – 7 points, +1.353 NRR

Along with England, the Aussies are one of just two unbeaten teams at the World Cup.

They opened their account with a win over New Zealand and have also beaten Pakistan and most recently India, while their matchup with Sri Lanka was washed out. Their performance against hosts India was a signature victory, completing a mammoth run chase of 331 runs - the highest all time in Women's ODIs.

It’s the quality depth that defines Australia’s squad, with a plethora of options in both disciplines that set the team up for a deep run.

England – 6 points, +1.864 NRR

Three games, three wins. Opening up with a dominant win over the Proteas and also proving too strong for Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, the English have barely put a foot wrong at the World Cup so far.

Chasing their fifth ODI Women’s Cricket World Cup and first since 2017, England have set themselves up for a genuine tilt, having already nearly secured semi-finals qualification.

Coming off a run-a-ball 117, captain Nat Sciver-Brunt is in world-beating form.

South Africa – 6 points, -0.618 NRR

The Proteas have had arguably the most compelling journey at the World Cup so far, having rebounded superbly from a heavy defeat to England. South Africa have claimed a trio of wins, against New Zealand and then India and then most recently Bangladesh to rise to third on the standings.

Tazmin Brits hit a century against New Zealand, captain Laura Wolvaardt showed promising signs (70 off 111) against India in what is sure to have their upcoming opponents on high alert, while all-rounder Nadine de Klerk has proven the match-winner with superb efforts during recent run chases for the Proteas.

Another thrilling win for the Proteas as they edge past Bangladesh in a last over finish in Visakhapatnam at the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025.

India – 4 points, +0.682 NRR

Only the top three teams boast a positive net run rate at the World Cup, which includes an India side that are showing enough promise to potentially claim a maiden 50-over Women’s World Cup.

While dropping back-to-back games, India have shown they can mix it with the elite teams. While being on the wrong end of the result, their performance against Australia - in a match that very much lived up to the hype - showed they have batting lineup capable of going all the way.

Smriti Mandhana, Pratika Rawal, Harleen Deol and Richa Ghosh have been their major contributors with the bat, while Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana and Kranti Gaud have all proven effective wicket takers. The hosts have plenty of potential match-winners as the tournament stakes keep rising.

New Zealand – 3 points, -0.245 NRR

The White Ferns were boosted with a victory against Bangladesh that kickstarted, though their quest to reach the semis took a hit when persistent rain meant they had to share the points against Sri Lanka.

Their next assignment will be a must-win match against Pakistan, while their final two encounters against heavyweights India and England will determine whether they can make the semi-finals.

Captain Sophie Devine is in sparkling form with the bat at the tournament, averaging 86.66 from three knocks to be the leading run-scorer across all teams.

The White Ferns register a comprehensive win over Bangladesh to win their first game at the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025.

Bangladesh – 2 points, -0.263 NRR

After a promising start to the tournament, beating Pakistan, Bangladesh have suffered three successive losses where their batters have come under scrutiny.

They showed some good signs against South Africa in Vizag on Monday, but fell just short of victory and will now likely need to win all three of their remaining matches to reach the final four.

Twenty-year-old quick Marufa Akter has been a bright spark, having already tallied five wickets for the tournament. She has been well supported by their spinners, too.

Sri Lanka – 2 points, -1.526 NRR

Sri Lanka's only points so far have come via washouts, though they may have been a tad unlucky having to share the spoils after they posted a decent total of 258/6 against New Zealand on Tuesday.

They have suffered defeats to India in the tournament opener and England more recently and will likely need to win all their remaining three fixtures to reach the knockout stages.

Inoka Ranaweera has been their major bowling contributor, already up to seven wickets and counting.

Pakistan – 0 points, -1.887 NRR

The other winless team, Pakistan have lost games to Bangladesh, India and Australia. But their effort against the favoured Aussies was valiant, putting their batting lineup under real pressure in Colombo.

As expected, Sidra Amin has been crucial to their fortunes with the bat, highlighted by an 81 against India, while they have had an equal spread of contributors with the ball.

Pakistan will be hoping to put it all together and take down the unbeaten England when they meet in Colombo on Wednesday.
