Rugby | South Africa head coach de Bruin, Captain Booi, Ngwevu on 66-6 win over Brazil in Pool D
NORTHAMPTON - South Africa head coach Swys de Bruin, captain Nolusindiso Booi and Mastercard Player of the Match Aphiwe Ngwevu reflect on their 66-6 win over Brazil in Pool D on Sunday.

Swys de Bruin, Head Coach
On the match:
“I know where these girls come from, I know their stories, they deserve this. I’m emotional. It shows South Africa what they can do. I feel blessed. For a year with this group, you realise they played way above. It was fantastic to see, they made us proud."
On bringing on the so-called 'bomb squad' from the bench:
“The bomb squad worked. We learned from Rassie [Erasmus, Springboks coach] and his men. At one stage I thought the bomb exploded but thanks to those brilliant supporters [it worked]. We’ve got to enjoy tonight and tomorrow then focus on the next game.
“And thanks to Brazil, they were fantastic.”
Nolusindiso Booi, Captain
“First of all I want to say thank you to all our fans who helped make this day so special for us.
“First half was a bit creaky but we managed to work together as a team and fix our mistakes. We know we have some learnings to take from this game. For example, we know that we need to work on our breakdowns, because teams are going to compete there, so we need to be sharp.
“Our setpieces were good, we just need to elevate them to the next step. Our play in the wide channels, that will be good for our confidence. We will get out energy from that.”
Aphiwe Ngwevu, Mastercard Player of the Match
“I’m very very happy because we’ve come very far and worked very hard to be here. I am very happy for all my teammates and everyone back home.
“We know what we need to do to go forward. It was not easy, Brazil never stopped, they kept coming, but we stopped them, and here we are now.”
