Rugby | RSA eve-of-match with coach Franzel September and Lindelwa Gwala
NORTHAMPTON - Springbok Women coach Franzel September and starting hooker Lindelwa Gwala ahead of their opening match against Rugby World Cup newcomers Brazil.

Franzel September
On balancing the focus on their first match with the rest of the tournament:
"First of all, we're happy to be here and for us it’s mission Brazil. That's the first one we need to get over with. So, we can't wait for tomorrow. But the focus is on Brazil - nothing else."
On the strengths South Africa need to show to put up a strong battle against Brazil:
"I think for us, first of all, we pride ourselves on our set piece and defence as well. As we've seen the last couple of matches, we tried to bring in a bit of a variety to our attacking game and we can't wait to give the ball some air as well.
"I think we are prepared and we are ready, but we just want to go out there and express ourselves. Whatever questions are asked by the opposition, we are up for that challenge."
On being at Franklin's Gardens:
"I think it's awesome, what a place to be, but we are here for one task and one reason. I think we put in the artwork, with our S and C (strength and conditioning). Mr. Naasier Parker, he took the ladies through a lot and I think that's why they're excited as well.
"We've got our reasons, we've got our 'whys', and I think we want to represent our whys, I think that's important for us. We want to make our people very proud because they've been with us this last couple of years, months, they've tolerated us. So we can't wait to get out there."
Lindelwa Gwala
On being Brazil’s first-ever opponents on a Rugby World Cup stage:
"We want to show up as our best and give them that respect by doing our best and that's the only way that we can show them that we actually respect them which is by doing everything that we can to actually win the game, because that is the aim.
"We're very excited to go against them. We know that they're going to come at us with their best as well because when it was our first time in the World Cup, we wanted to show up and do the best that we could. So, I imagine that they have the same mentality and they're coming at us with that. They also want to win. We just respect them by giving them everything that they expect from us, basically."
On being at the ground and how she expects to feel putting on her jersey for the Rugby World Cup stage:
"I think it's obviously going to be very exciting and I think that is true for everyone. I wouldn't say that there aren’t nerves because it is a World Cup it is the biggest stage that we can ever be on. Coming out tomorrow is going to be exciting.
"I know that we've put in a lot of work. It's been years building up to actually where we are now. I was speaking to one of my teammates, and she was just saying that she keeps thinking about the games that we played, and it's so hard to believe that this is it, it's actually time to go. We just want to go out, express ourselves, show the excitement and just let that explode. It’s time to show the blend of our pace and power, which I believe we have. Yeah, it's about to go down!"
