Cricket | Garden Route Badgers Women’s Day Celebration

On 9 August 2025, the office of SWD Cricket hosted the Annual Women’s Day event. Twenty women within the community were invited to attend this event. The event was held in the form of a brunch meal.

Five speaker’s who all told/shared different stories and information which was very insightful for the women attending. Issues like gender-based violence, women’s health, breast cancer and the role of women in sport in the community.

The event was closed of with the lighting of candles for all women and children who passed on at the hand of abuse.

The group of ladies attending the event committed to getting more involved with projects such as the Breast Cancer drive, A newly established committee who works with families of victims of abuse and crime as well as projects hosted by SWD Cricket. New bonds were formed and new friendships made.
