Keep yourself and your family safe this summer

Many lifesaving clubs around the country have been on duty throughout the year, performing voluntary duties at beaches and pools and providing essential water safety at events.
This weekend marks the season's official opening for voluntary lifeguards in the Western and Eastern Cape.
Lifesaving South Africa has over 4000 voluntary lifeguards patrolling South African beaches, pools and dams during the summer season. The lifeguards are highly trained to keep the public safe, provide rescue services, and perform CPR in an emergency.
Remember to:
* Only swim where there are lifeguards on duty.
* The red and yellow lifeguard flags mark the safest place to swim at the beach. Make sure everyone swims between the red and yellow flags.
* Listen to the safety advice from the lifeguards.
* Surf conditions can change quickly, so always check the water before you enter. Ask a lifeguard for advice if you are unsure where the safest area to swim.
Follow these safety tips from our partner @DHLAfrica to keep yourself and your family safe this summer.
