The Indian Ocean Cup was a thrilling international tournament, featuring competitors from South Africa, India, Mauritius, and Reunion Island. In the Men's Final, Emslie outperformed Anbarasu Kishore from India, Dhanasekaran Srikanth (India), and Eliott Royer from La Reunion, securing the top spot.

"Super stoked to win the Indian Ocean Cup here in Reunion", said Emslie. "The waves were really fun. We were surfing this perfect little left reef, super shallow, clear blue water; what a treat. It was a great confidence booster, and it helped me see where my backhand surfing is, coming from Nahoon. It has been great working with Liam, with his coaching and strategies, and he has been a major asset to the South African team."

The women's division was equally diverse, with Aelan Vaast (Nouvelle-Aquitaine) claiming the top spot. South African surfers Anastasia Venter (JBay) and Zoe Steyn (EL) showcased their skills, securing 2nd and 3rd places, while Simon Kahili from Tahiti finished in 4th place.

Emslie, Venter, Steyn, and team member Lorenzo Perels are now competing in the Coup De Surf Francophonie International Cup, which will run over the next few days. The contest is currently on hold as tropical cyclone Bheki is passing south of the island, bringing in some inclement weather.
