Tennis | Montjane and Kamiji edged out in Roland Garros 2024 wheelchair final

South African wheelchair tennis ace Kgothatso Montjane narrowly missed out on securing her third Grand Slam doubles title at Roland Garros in Paris on Saturday night.

Top seeds Montjane and regular partner Yui Kamiji of Japan, the defending champions, were locked in a tight battle against the Dutch pairing of Diede de Groot and Aniek van Koot, the No 2 seeds.

While Montjane and Kamiji won the first set, and took the second to a tie-break, they ultimately fell in a 7-6 6-7 [4-10] defeat.

Earlier in the tournament, SA's Donald Ramphadi competed in the semifinals of the men's quad and doubles categories, but he was unable to reach the finals.
