Modimolle, Limpopo Province, May 22, 2024 – UXi Sport proudly announces the formalisation of a strategic partnership with the esteemed Limpopo Blue Bulls Union Management, marking the inception of the groundbreaking UXi Limpopo Blue Bulls International Rugby Institute, slated to commence operations in January 2025.

Situated amidst the picturesque landscape of Modimolle on a Game Lodge, the institute promises a distinctive blend of sports excellence and academic enrichment, offering a unique "stay, play, and study" experience in the heart of the Bushveld, a mere 80 min drive from Pretoria.

The institute will serve as a launching pad for aspiring rugby talents, providing a platform for players to compete in various competitions including the Limpopo Provincial U20 and U21 tournaments, as well as the prestigious SA U20 Shield competition. Moreover, participants will have the opportunity to partake in the Blue Bulls U20 Club league, further honing their skills in a competitive environment.

In addition to rigorous rugby training, the institute will offer a diverse array of academic programs ranging from Wildlife Conservation, Anti-Poaching, and Game Ranging to Lodge Management, alongside internationally recognised courses and fifteen new QCTO-accredited programs in sports, fitness, business management, and humanities.

Thea Miller, CEO of UXi Sport, expressed her enthusiasm: "We are thrilled to embark on this exciting journey with the Limpopo Blue Bulls, pioneering a holistic approach to rugby development that integrates athletic prowess with academic excellence. Ensuring all our students prepare for life both on and off the field of rugby."

Henri van Aswegen, President of the Limpopo Blue Bulls and head of the newly established academy, echoed these sentiments. "This partnership signifies a groundbreaking milestone for rugby development in Limpopo, presenting a beacon of opportunity for talented athletes across the region. The Blue Bulls and Limpopo Blue Bulls Unions are firm believers in nurturing, developing, and providing opportunities to the raw talent we have in the areas where institutional resources are not as abundant as one would find in your major South African cities and towns.

"We aim to cultivate not just exceptional rugby players, but well-rounded individuals equipped with the skills and knowledge to excel both on and off the field."

The institute will extend its services to Limpopo's rugby clubs, schools, and communities, contributing to the empowerment and advancement of rugby enthusiasts in the Province, while also catalysing employment opportunities and socio-economic development.

Applications for the inaugural intake in 2025 are now open, inviting aspiring athletes and scholars to seize this unparalleled opportunity for personal and professional growth.
