DAY 1
The Netball World Youth Cup 2025 Qualifiers Africa got underway yesterday, with the hosts South Africa taking two dominant wins, Kenya running Zimbabwe close, and Malawi beating Namibia.
With three spots at the NWYC2025 in Gibraltar up for grabs, the day started with South Africa taking on Tanzania and the young SPAR Proteas did not disappoint as they came flying out the blocks eventually putting 75 goals past Tanzania as they dominated all four quarters.
Next up, was the turn of Zimbabwe and Kenya to take to court in what turned out to be a very close encounter.
The two teams were neck and neck throughout the 60 minutes, with Zimbabwe’s young Gems working hard to take a 10-goal win.
Malawi also got off to winning ways when they beat Namibia 48-23.
Finally, South Africa closed out the day with another 70-goal tally, putting 72 goals past Zambia in the final match of day one.
