SA Men seal series against Namibia in International Indoor Hockey tests

The South African Men started superbly and produced the most devastating opening that the series had seen. First Mustapha Cassiem set up skipper Jethro Eustice who finished easily before a superb penalty corner from Dayaan Cassiem doubled the score. Mustapha Cassiem netted his 51st International goal from a stroke as South Africa tore into a 3-0 lead.

As good as South Africa were in the opening quarter, Namibia was arguably better in the second scoring four times to lead 4-3 at the half-time break. Percy Barthram, Nico Neethling, Liam Hermanus and David Britz all getting on the score sheet and turning the game on its head.

South Africa couldn’t have asked for a better start to the second half as Dayaan Cassiem levelled after good save and quick-thinking reaction. South Africa were desperate to find the winner and seal the series. They got the hammer blow when captain Jethro Eustice scored from a penalty corner to seal the game and the series for the hosts!

FINAL RESULT – South Africa 5-4 Namibia
