At the end of November South Africa will host the inaugural FIH Nations Cup competition in Potchefstroom. The tournament features the 8 best nations not currently included in the FIH Pro League, with the winner of the tournament earning a place in the 2023/24 FIH Pro League.
The South African Hockey Men are in Group B alongside France, Ireland and Pakistan with the top two progressing to the semi-finals.
The team will be led by new South African Mens Hockey captain Dayaan Cassiem. He is joined in the squad by the bulk of the Commonwealth Games squad that finished in the top 4 in Birmingham.
South Africa will open the tournament with a game against Pakistan before taking on France 24 hours later. They close their campaign with a match against Ireland which is the final group stage game on 1 December.
