The SA Hockey Indoor Men’s side has today been announced for a five-match test series in Windhoek at the end of the Month. Both Southern African sides are gearing up for the FIH Hockey Indoor World Cup which takes place in Pretoria and will be the first tournament featuring two African sides.
The two sides last did battle just over a year ago when they played a four match test series in South Africa with the hosts winning the series 2-0 in an incredibly tight tussle, showing once again how close the two neighbors are to one another.
The only two players that did not feature in that series that are included are Dan Sibbald, who was a standout star for the Indoor Hockey Men at the African Hockey Indoor Cup of Nations at Thomas More College, and Spencer Botes who will have the opportunity to earn his debut.
Head coach Justin Rosenberg is excited to get underway
“I’m looking forward to another International Indoor Hockey test series. This is really the start of our World Cup preparation, where we are looking to be incredible hosts both on and off the field. It's going to be a challenging series as we make our way to Windhoek! Im excited to see Spencer Botes make his debut for SA and to see the boys back on the court together!”
