Gymnastics South Africa’s action packed Perfect 10 showcase returns
IT’S PERFECT10 TIME FOR GYMNASTICS SA
Gymnastics South Africa’s action packed Perfect 10 showcase returns to pre-covid normality as it shifts from virtual to in-stadium on 4 October. Set to take place at the Rembrandt Hall at University of Pretoria, this year’s event will include the history-making Commonwealth Games’ Women’s Artistic team, including Caitlin Rooskrantz and Naveen Daries.
“Perfect10 is our Big Night Out,” says Anne Vermaak, CEO of Gymnastics South Africa. “We’re very excited to see our gymnasts in action as this unique event. It will be the first-time local gymnastics fans will be able to see our Commonwealth and Olympian gymnasts together in a single competition.”
The Perfect10 showcase is unique in the world as it features 30 gymnasts in five teams, competing in a team competition scored the old-school way. Celebrity judges will score each routine out of 10 and the combined score per team will determine the winning team on the night.
All participating gymnasts will be divided into five teams – Blue Cranes, Meerkats, Zebras, Gazelles and Cheetahs. They will be adjudicated by celebrity judges as well as qualified gymnastics judges. The points the competitors receive will count towards their own points tally, as well as their teams.
The hour-long show, hosted by well-known sports presenter Lebo Motsoeli promises to be a fun night out for the entire family. Entrance to the event is free and fans are encouraged to arrive early. The show will kick off at 7pm on Tuesday, 4 October.
