Harrismith, Free State - SuperSport Schools is proud to partner with School Cycling South Africa to bring live coverage of the inaugural Interprovincial School Mountain Bike Race, happening in Harrismith, Free State, from 19-20 October 2024.
This landmark event will be the first Primary School mountain biking competition of its kind in South Africa, and viewers can watch every thrilling moment live on the SuperSport Schools App.
Leading up to this exciting final, schools across all nine provinces have been battling it out in a series of regional qualifying events. The top 3 riders in each age group—Nippers (Ages 9 and 10), Sprogs (Ages 11 and 12), and Sub-Junior (Ages 13 and 14) will compete for the national crown in Harrismith. With its stunning landscapes and challenging trails, Harrismith provides the perfect backdrop for this showcase of youth talent and passion for mountain biking.
Not only will individual riders compete for top honors, but schools will also qualify as teams, vying to be crowned the best mountain biking school in South Africa. The event offers an opportunity for young athletes to showcase their skill, grit, and determination as they represent their provinces and schools in what promises to be a memorable weekend.
