Entries Open for the 2026 Cape Town Cycle Tour!

Cape Town, October 2025 - On Sunday, 8 March 2026, thousands of riders will line up for the 48th edition of the Cape Town Cycle Tour, taking on either the iconic 109 km route or the shorter but equally spirited 42 km route.

Cape Town Cycle Tour

With its breathtaking views, smooth organisation, and festive atmosphere, the Cape Town Cycle Tour remains one of the most anticipated events on the global cycling calendar, a bucket-list experience for both professionals and casual riders alike.

A Festival of Cycling

"The Cape Town Cycle Tour is more than just a timed race; it is a celebration of health, community, and the sheer joy of cycling, all on fully closed roads," says David Bellairs, CEO of the Cape Town Cycle Tour. "Every year we see new riders join, seasoned cyclists return, and international visitors marvel at the route's beauty. 2026 will be no different; it promises to be another unforgettable edition of this truly iconic event."

This year's event once again highlights Cape Town's world-class hospitality, vibrant supporters along the route, and a weekend filled with pre-race activities at the Cape Town Cycle Tour Expo, making it a true festival for riders, families, and fans.

Pedalling for a Purpose

Beyond the thrill of the ride, the Cape Town Cycle Tour continues to make a tangible difference in the lives of others. Each year, hundreds of riders take part to raise funds for charitable causes, from health and education initiatives to community upliftment and environmental projects. Since its inception, the event has helped generate millions of rand for local charities, underscoring its role as not only a sporting highlight but a powerful force for good.

Prelude Challenge – Ride Anywhere, Anytime

Those unable to join on the day can still be part of the excitement through the Cape Town Cycle Tour Prelude Challenge, an alternate ride running from 21 February to 1 March 2026. Participants can complete the challenge anywhere, at their own pace, and still share in the build-up to race day. Every kilometre counts towards the celebration, connecting cyclists across the globe in the spirit of unity, fitness, and fun.
