ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024 | Daniels approved as replacement for Khumalo in South Africa U19 squad

Kwena Maphaka of South Africa celebrates the wicket of Joshua Dorne of West Indies during the ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup South Africa 2024 match between South Africa and West Indies at JB Marks Oval on January 19, 2024 in Potchefstroom, South Africa.

The Event Technical Committee of the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024 has approved Raeeq Daniels as a replacement for Martin Khumalo in the South Africa squad.

Bowling all-rounder Daniels was named as a replacement after Khumalo was ruled out due to a hamstring injury sustained in South Africa’s opening match against the West Indies.

The replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the player can be officially added to the squad.

The Event Technical Committee of the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024 consists of Wasim Khan (ICC General Manager – Cricket and Chair of the ETC), Wanele Mngomezulu (Host Tournament Director), Sarah Edgar (IBC Representative) and Samuel Badree (Independent Representative).
