Garden Route Badgers To Host Rhino’s In Oudtshoorn

After an impressive start to the season the Garden Route Badgers host the Mpumalanga Rhino’s in Oudtshoorn in the Cricket South Africa Division 2 Four-day competition.

The match will start on Thursday and promises to be an epic battle with both teams who recorded impressive victories in their opening round of matches two weekends ago.  The Rhino’s who played one match, are second on the log on 26.12 points, and the Badgers are third on 23.58 points after a single match. The Eastern Storm are on 28.2 points after two matches and are the log leaders.

The Badgers defeated Limpopo Impala in Polokwane by an innings and 161 runs, whilst the Rhinos in Kimberley recorded a 258-run victory against the Northern Cape Heat.  The two outstanding heroes of these matches – who both scored double hundreds will be in action in Oudtshoorn. For the Badgers, George van Heerden scored 221* and for the Rhino’s Mohammed Mayet made 269*.

Good news for the Badgers is that the injured Pheko Moletsane will be available for the weekend.
