Cricket | Western Cape Legends Awards For André Visser
A former Vice-President of the than South Western Districts Cricket Board, André Visser was honored with a Legends Award of the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs in Sport. The gala breakfast was hosted at Kronenburg Wine Estate near Paarl on Thursday 13th of March.

He was part of the Executive Committee of Mossel Bay Cricket Club with the unification of sporting bodies – including cricket – in 1991. In July 1995 he was elected as a member of the South Western Districts Cricket Board as the Treasurer. He served as a member of the SWDC Executive Committee until July 2011 – for sixteen (16) consecutive years. Andre was in elected as the Vice-President of the SWDCB July 2005 and held the position for 6 years.
“André’s involvement at SWD Cricket was as a true volunteer and he served governance structures with diligence and commitment” commented the president of SWD Cricket, Mr Micheal Eksteen. “ We are grateful that he was honoured for his undevoted service to cricket”, he concluded.
