The Garden Route Badgers Colts team produced an impressive performance in last weekend’s fixtures against the Eastern Cape Iianyathi in the Cricket South Africa Colts competition.

In the matches that were played at Buffalo Park in East Londen the Badgers recorded a credible draw in the three day match after they enforced a follow-on after a lead of 170 on the first innings. The Iianyathi responded with 242/8 in their second innings as the match ended in a draw. Warren Bell (114), Breyton Plaatjies (86) and Grant Esau (57*) impressed with the bat in the three day match.

The Badgers (181/6) on Sunday successfully chased down 177 to record won by 4 wickets. Breyton Plaatjies 68 with the bat and 3/1 with the ball had an outstanding all round match.
