Cricket | Garry Hampson Appointed As Cricket South Africa Elite Coach Developer
The Cricket South Africa Coach Education Office has assigned Mr. Garry Hampson as the new Elite Coach Developer to support the coaches in the domestic professional structure.
Hampson was previously employed by SWD Cricket as the head coach of the provincial semi-professional team for five seasons between 2009 and 2013 before he became the Coach Education Manager at SWD. Two seasons ago his reporting was shifted directly to Cricket South Africa following a re-structuring process.
The elite coach developer role will be responsible to Coordinate the CSA Elite Coach Development programme, Act as CSA representative for the role profile of professional coaches and interview process and support Members in the Performance Review Process – Goal setting, review and monitoring of agreed interventions. He will further oversee the Professional Teams Survey Assessment surveys and drive the agreed Personal Development plan interventions signed off by the Coach, CEO and CSA Coach.
This role was previously fulfilled by Corrie van Zyl who was recently appointed as the CEO of Western Province Cricket.
