The 2024/25 campaign of the Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers will kick-off this weekend.
The Badgers will take on the Mpumalanga Rhino’s in the Cricket South Africa Twenty20 competition for Division 2 at Uplands College in White River on Saturday.
After Saturday the Badgers will travel to Benoni where they will take on the Eastern Storm at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on Tuesday 24 September.
The Badgers will be desperate to improve on their performances from last season and has some new personnel in their line-up. The head coach Gurshwin Rabie is however full of confidence that the line-up can turn the ship around and improve on their disappointing performances of last season.
Disappointing news is the top-order batsman, Ruan Terblanche, who was unavailable for most of the previous season due to ankle surgery has recurred his ankle injury and will be sidelined for six weeks.
The Badgers squad is: Yaseen Valli (captain), Luke Beaufort, Khwezi Gumede, Kyle Jacobs, Thomas Kaber, Hlompo Modimokoane, Pheko Moletsane, Lifa Ntanzi, Kelly Smuts, Jarred Jardine, Tyrece Karelse, Sintu Majiza, Liyabona Malife, Heath Richards and Keenan Vieira.
