Cricket | Cavaliers Stunned Pacaltsdorp

Knysna Cavaliers (245/9) caused one of the biggest upsets in the Six Gun Grill SWD premier league with a 133 runs bonus point victory against the defending champions, Pacaltsdorp United (128 all out). 

For Cavaliers, who recorded this victory in the Pacaltsdorp’s backyard, Maurice White (60*) and JP Ellis (59) excelled with the bat whilst Charl Francios Marais (6/29) was in superb form with the ball.

Plett Pioneers (128 all out) remain winless after the first half of the competition after a 13 runs defeat against Harlequins Forces (141 all out).  Jermaine le Kay (69) with the bat and Clayton Manewille (3/17) and Matthew Jansen (3/30) were the bowling heroes for Harlequins.

In the only promotion league match of the weekend Pirates United (53/2) strengthen their position for a place in the semi-finals with an 8-wicket victory against Bongolethu (49 all out).  Ruwyane Brinkhuys (7/23 with the ball) was the man-of-the-match for Pirates.
