It is with great pride and excitement that I write to you in support of an extraordinary young athlete, Megan Reid, who currently serves as the dedicated goalie for Hoërskool Oosterlig’s U/14A Hockey Team.
Megan is fast becoming the “it” goalie of the East Rand. Her skills, determination, and sportsmanship are turning heads across the region. Most recently, her team placed 3rd at the NWU Tournament, where Megan’s standout performance earned her a spot on The Knights U/19 team, for The Netherlands International Hockey Tournament. In addition, Megan is the only goalie from the East Rand to advance to the final round of the OOS TVL Bokkieweek trials, and she has also been selected to train with the Eastern Gauteng High Performance Squad - a clear indication of her potential for provincial and national selection in the near future.
