A 12-Year-Old Rugby Star Needs Your Help to Tour Italy
Hi, my name is Lwandile Masina, and I need your help to make my rugby dream come true!
I’m 12 years old, and I’ve loved playing rugby ever since I was six. Rugby is more than just a game for me — it’s something that has taught me discipline, teamwork, and the importance of always giving my best. Over the years, I’ve worked really hard, trained every week, and played in many matches with my school and club teams.
Because of my dedication, I’ve been really lucky to achieve some amazing things. I was named Most Valuable Rugby Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024, and I’ve helped my school team win the league three times. I also play for the School First Team, the Valke Laerskool Rugby Club, and the NWU Eagles Youth Rugby Club. These experiences have taught me so much about leadership, responsibility, and how to push myself to reach my full potential.
Now, I’ve been given an incredible opportunity: I’ve been invited to the BRSI Rugby Tour in Italy this December 2025! This is a dream come true for me because I will get to play rugby at an international level, meet players from other countries, and learn from amazing coaches. It’s a chance to see how rugby is played around the world, improve my skills, and become a stronger, more confident player. It’s also a step toward my future dreams — I hope one day to get a scholarship, play rugby professionally, and inspire other young athletes like me to work hard and follow their dreams.
To make this tour happen, my family and I need to raise R70,000. This money will cover important things like:
- Flights and accommodation
- Travel insurance
- Airport taxes
Training and match participation
