I am Candace McCardle and I am 75 years old, I have been invited to compete at the 9th World Kungfu Championship in Emeishan, Sichuan China as part of the National Protea Traditional Wushu Team from the 23rd of August to the 28th of August 2023 I have attached here to the letter and the programme for the competition

I am part of Shuaimeng Lui Martial Arts Studio in Rivonia and I have been practicing Tai Chi since 2007
In 2017 I attended the Wushu Championships in China and won 2 Bronze Medals for my participation in the championships Over the last 10 years I have competed in the Nationals where I received various medals and certificates
As Wushu collectively is not a national sport, and individuals such as myself rely on sponsorships to compete in these competitions At the time of writing this letter the amount needed is about USD 2500 00 which is about R 44682 25 South African Rand.This amount includes the return airfare, accommodation as well as daily living expenses for the period
It would not be amiss to say that this is has been a lifelong passion. In 2019 I suffered a stroke and Tai Chi helped me to bounce back and continue to live my life as best as I can This is my message, that age cannot define you and a passion to compete can only help you build your dream I am very passionate about Tai Chi, I am an advocate for healthy living and also teach these principles to my students.
I would be grateful for any contribution you are willing to make in the efforts for me to attend the 9th World Kungfu Championship in Emeishan, Sichuan China as part of the National Protea Traditional Wushu Team.
