FINA World Championships: Team SA update (Day 4)    The 19th FINA World Championships are under way in Budapest, Hungary. In action on Tuesday morning were Clayton Jimmie in the 100m freestyle, Matthew Sates in the 200m IM and Olivia Nel in the 50m backstroke. Sates finished second in his heat and qualified for the semi-finals, but Jimmie and Nel were eliminated in the heats. In action on Monday morning was Brendan Crawford in the 50m breaststroke and Chad Le Clos in the 200m butterfly. Le Clos was entered in his heat in lane six but didn’t appear at the starting blocks, while Crawford was unable to qualify for the semi-finals (fastest 16). Guy Elliot to lead the SA U21 Hockey Men until the conclusion of FIH Hockey Junior World Cup in 2023. South African Hockey have today announced Guy Elliot has been appointed to lead the SA U21 Hockey Men until the conclusion of FIH Hockey Junior World Cup in 2023. Guy Elliot is the current Director of Hockey at St. Albans College as well as technical director of SA Schools Hockey. He brings a wealth of leadership and player management experience to the role. SA Hockey reappoints Lenise Marais as SA Women’s U21 Head Coach South African Hockey have today announced Lenise Marais has been appointed to continue on with the work she has done with the SA Under 21 Women’s team, including leading them to the first ever African based Hockey World Cup. Her appointment is until the conclusion of the 2023 FIH Junior World Cup. Lenise Marais has held the role since 2019.
