Three South African juniors will represent South Africa in the Wimbledon Junior Qualifying

Three South African juniors Isabella Kruger, Devin Badenhorst and Gabriella Broadfoot will represent the country in the Wimbledon Junior Qualifying event, during which 64 of the world's top 18-and-under boys and girls will compete for a chance to play in the Wimbledon Championships.

In the girls’ event, Kruger (456 WTA ranking) will kick off her campaign against Madeleine Jessup (86 ITF junior ranking) from Chinese Taipei, meanwhile, Broadfoot (116 ITF junior ranking) will take on Denmark’s Natacha Schou (110 ITF junior ranking) in her opener.

Badenhorst (101 ITF junior ranking)) will square off against Japanese Kenta Miyoshi (78 ITF junior ranking) in the first round in the boys event.

The junior qualifying event takes place at the Wimbledon Qualifying and Community Sports Centre, Roehampton from Thursday, 30 June until Friday, 1 July.

The Wimbledon Junior Qualifying event features 32-player singles draws for boys and girls, with eight players on each side advancing to the main draw. The 2022 Boys' and Girls' Qualifying fields feature mostly players ranked in the Top 100 of the world junior rankings.
