TSA hosts successful Junior Camp
Tennis SA hosted a successful junior development Camp in Pretoria this past weekend, with the goal of identifying young talent from Gauteng's development centers and hubs. The camp aligns with the International Tennis Federation's (ITF) Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI) for the national 14-and-under junior development program.
Over 80 players from 13 tennis development hubs participated in the camp, including Moletsane, Arthur Ashe, Dube, Yoeville, Turfontein, Kwa-Thema, Vosloorus, Kagiso, Vanderbijlpark, Hammanskraal, Atteridgeville, Mamelodi, and Soshanguve.
The players were put through various drills and trials based on their mental toughness, tactical, technical, physical skills, and talent.
The camp was designed to identify talent and select a group of 24 players for tournament participation and specialized coaching.
The players will be helped in a variety of ways to compete in tournaments, particularly on the ITF World Junior Tennis Tour.
