Team South Africa upped their medals to 17 on Friday at the 2nd African Beach Games in Hammamet, Tunisia.

There have been four gold medals, six silver medals and seven bronze medals in what is an ideal preparation for the World Beach Games to be held in Bali in August.

The medal winners are:

BADMINTON (5)
Women’s triples (gold) beat Benin
Men’s Triples (gold) beat Nigeria
Team Event (silver) lost to Nigeria 80-78
Mixed doubles, Cameron Coetzer & Diane Olivier (bronze)
Mixed doubles, Raneshen Naidoo & Jabulile Gninda (bronze)

CANOEING (2)
Kwenzeka Mzolo (gold)
Nozipho Mthebu (silver)

KARATE (4)
Jesse Sim (bronze, male individual kata)
Maxine Willemse (bronze, female individual Kaya)
