Team BSI are the 2023 South African National High School Champions
Back: Dowoo Kim, Tyrone Gibb (Team Manager), Eric Ncube
Front: Tawriq Abrahams (C) & Vuyisani Makama
The fighting spirit was strong as Team BSI came back from 13 shots behind after round 1 to claim a 1-shot victory in the SA High School Championship at Reading CC this week.
Tawriq Abrahams, Dowoo Kim, Eric Ncube and Vuyisani Makama were competing in the national championship after BSI won the Central Gauteng High Schools Super League.
Tawriq was our leading scorer in round 1, with 73 in tough, cold and windy conditions to keep us in T2 place. The rest of the team led the charge in round 2, with Dowoo shooting 71, Eric 72 and Vuyisani 74. With 9 holes to go we were still 9 shots behind, but our boys dug deep and moved up a gear to overtake Grey High School over the final few holes.
