Springbok Women's Sevens squad dominates at Hermanus Women's Sevens
The Springbok Women's Sevens squad dominated their opponents at the Hermanus Women's Sevens on Saturday and Sunday, winning all six their matches on a canter without conceding a try.
It was clear that the regular training blocks for the squad, in preparations for World Rugby Challenger Series in April, are bearing fruit as Renfred Dazel's troops just proved too slick and fit for their opponents, consisting of club sides from Boland and Western Province.
Patience on attack was a big downfall to the club sides, who were confronted by a very disciplined defensive effort from the national side. The difference in fitness levels was another domination factor for the team in Green and Gold.
Day two of the tournament, played at Hermanus High School Fields, belonged to dual Springbok wing, Ayanda Malinga, who scored eight tries in three matches, including five in the Cup semi-final.
