Rowe, Nathan & Volkswagen SupaPolo ready for Scribante
Volkswagen Motorsport is hoping for a home-ground advantage when round 3 of the 2023 South African Endurance Series Championship visits the Aldo Scribante racetrack in for the Gqeberha 4 Hour on Saturday 5 August.
The team is chasing its Class D hat trick at the Winter Motorsport Festival race with Daniel Rowe and Graeme Nathan at the wheel of a further developed factory Volkswagen SupaPolo. “Volkswagen Motorsport has been hard at work developing our endurance SupaPolo since the last round,” Head of Volkswagen Motorsport Mike Rowe pointed out.
“We may have won the first two races of the season, but we have been up against some lighter and more powerful opposition, and while the team gelled and our strategy has worked well so far, our rivals have also been a little unlucky. So we have made our car a bit more agile and a little quicker in an effort to maintain the advantage. Best of luck to the team!”
“We had two very good races to start the season and we lead the championship to Gqeberha off a win in each of those rounds,” Daniel Rowe pointed out. “We have been consistent and our strategy has been good, so let’s hope we can repeat that success at our home track Aldo Scribante.”
“I am looking forward to racing the endurance SupaPolo at Aldo Scribante,” Graeme Nathan added. “Our main Class D rivals, Karah Hill and Jurie Swart’s Polo, is quick, so we cannot rest on our laurels, even if we have made a few improvements to our car to try keep them in check. The Gqeberha 4 Hour should be a great weekend, so none of us can wait to get racing!”
The Gqeberha 4 Hour is part of the South African Endurance Series’ Winter Motorsport Festival 4-5 August 2023. Entry is R80 per person, tickets will be available at the gate.
