Double Header

SAES goes for double header at the East London Grand Prix Circuit.

Phakisa Freeway in Welkom, the venue for round five and six of the SA GT Championship and round three of the SA Endurance series, has revealed that the facility is unsuitable to host the GT3 powerhouses that form the backbone of South Africa’s top racing class. The excessively abrasive track surface combined with inadequate services is not conducive to safe and cost-effective racing for our teams.

The SAES, together with Motorsport South Africa, has decided to combine the two events into a double-header event at the East London Grand Prix Circuit from 21 to 23 July.

The Southern African Endurance Series is excited about presenting their mega-motorsport festival to our Eastern Cape fans as well as our national and international audience via live-streaming. Four 1-hour SAGT races and two 4-hour endurance races as well as the two local border motorsport racing classes, with some exciting scheduling on the cards will break new ground for the sport
