SA Wheelchair junior players off to Japan
As we celebrate Youth Month, we are thrilled to announce that three junior wheelchair tennis players Khanya Xundu from Ithembelihle School, Bongumenzi from Open Air School and Ntando Nokama from Vukuhambe School have been selected to participate in an international camp in Japan! The team jets off today for a four-day event that runs from 17-20 June 2023 and they are accompanied by Wheelchair Tennis Manager Patrick Selepe and Coach Gopolang More.
This amazing opportunity will allow our juniors to train alongside international players competing in top-level tournaments. It's a well-deserved recognition of their hard work throughout 2022, despite not having had the chance to play in any international tournaments so far.
Thanks to our partnership with the Japan Paralympic host town in Iizuka and other international wheelchair tennis federations, we are confident that this experience will open up new horizons for our juniors.
Wishing our players an amazing and inspiring time in Japan! We can't wait to hear about their experiences and see how this journey propels them towards even greater success on the international stage.
