Dance Sport | UDO World Championships 2024

The Federation of Dance Sport South Africa is the governing body for Dance Sport and related dance styles in South Africa.

It is a full member of the world governing body World Dance Sport Federation (WDSF), and a full member of and recognized by South African Sports Confederation and Olympics Committee (SASCOC) and the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture (DSAC) in South Africa. It is the official controlling body and the sole custodian of organized Dance Sport issuing Provincial and Protea colours in South Africa. 
 
The Federation has a number of Associate members who are affiliated and one of the Associate members is the Street Dance Association, which made the country so proud with its representative at the UDO World Street Dance Championships earlier this month. 
 

UDO (United Dance Organization) World Street Dance Championships 2024

It was a proud moment for Team SA, as more than 90 dancers represented South Africa at the UDO (United Dance Organization) World Street Dance Championships 2024 in Blackpool England, from the 14-18th August 2024. 
 
The Street Dance Association was thrilled and proud of this amazing opportunity, acknowledging and thanking the Federation of Dance Sport South Africa. With over 90 Dancers from different provinces representing South Africa, they worked very hard to bring the titles back home. 
 
The results achieved for each category were as follows:
- Teams: Drop the Beat- 7th place.
- Quads: Trifecta- 2nd; Rhythm Rebels Advanced- 4th. 
- Duos: 1st- Nkanyezi Minenhle and Lilitha Reagoikanya Seemela; 2nd- Makhosazana Zuma and Smangaliso Craig Zondi; 3rd- Nzima Sphesihle Mdleleni and Buhle Msimanga; 4th- Zoe Rorisang Mathabe and Lilitha Reagoikanya Seemela, Mika Alexandria Ruiters and Malwande Angel Mathunyane; 6th- Victoria Lesedi Davids and Leandro Aschendorf.
- Solos: 1st- Rorisang Mandisa Sukhwan, Makhosazana Zuma; 2nd- Ceejay Anthony; 3rd- Ethan William Harris, Ester Jenny Esau and Jordan Van Wyk; 4th- Phumelela Londiwe Melokuhle Khwela, Bontle Motshumi, Jonathan Mahlatjie, Onneile Dihemo; 5th- Smangaliso Craig Zondi and Neriah Tobi; 8th- Brian Mahlangu; 9th- Kayley Paulse.
- Battle category: both 4th places for Lara Műller for Open Breaking Division and Onneile Dihemo  for Open Hip Hop Battles.
 
South Africans are extremely proud of how well the dancers represented Team SA and also thank the Street Dance Association for their hard work!
