Red Lined Motorsport managed to take its fair share of South African Rally Raid Championship accolades home this weekend following a splendid start to the new season at the Nkomazi 400 event.

“What an incredible weekend and a fantastic way to start off the 2023 South African National Rally Raid Championship season!” team boss Terence Marsh explained at the finish of the technical, dusty, hot, and humid opening round held in the eastern Mpumalanga Province town of Malalane.

“Our Red-Lined T1 REVO topped its class with a resounding 1-2 victory as Johan De Bruyn and Gerhard Schutte took their second national win from their last three starts in their brand new OdorCure T1 REVO. Nicholas Pienaar and Carl Swanepoel came home a close second in their best national result on their first outing aboard their newly acquired Super Energi T1 REVO.

“It was also a brilliant first national outing for Chris Visser and Albertus Venter and our all-new Dragon Energy powered Red-Lined REVO T1+ which ended a fine fifth on debut among a world class field in the premium T1+ class. “We also went on to record another 100% finishing ratio as both Dutch duo Dave Klaassen and Tessa Rooth‘s in their DaklaPack VK50 and the ever-present Philip and Nicolaas Botha’s in their Penta Motor Group VK56 came home sixth and eighth in the T1 class.”

“Wow, what a weekend and what a start to the season!” Johan de Bruyn added. “Red-Lined Motorsport delivered and incredible new race car which won on debut. How much better can it possibly get? I am eternally grateful for all their hard work and commitment! Also, congratulations to the South African Rally Raid Championship for a tough and challenging but enjoyable event! “

“Fifth overall against some of the finest rally raid crews and race cars in the toughest and most challenging conditions on the debut of our new Dragon Energy Red-Lined REVO T1+” Chris Visser posed? “We will definitely take that! We started outside the top ten but ended up fighting up front for most of the day. The race car had no technical issues whatsoever the first time out, so it was a great weekend all-round and we now look forward to developing and learning more about this incredible race car.”

“That was a brilliant start to our 2023 South African Rally Raid Championship,” Terence Marsh concluded. “A great debut for our Red-Lined REVO T1+ and an incredible 1-2 for our T1 specification REVO which was its third win and seventh consecutive podium, and all this together with yet another 100% team finish! I am extremely proud of our entire Red-Lined Motorsport team as the guys have worked incredibly hard over the last few months and this reward is just reward for all their efforts!”
