Green and Gold well represented in Portuguese Finals

Six South African kart racers have progressed to their respective ‘Olympics of Karting’ Rotax Max Grand Finals in Portimão, Portugal on Saturday. 26 November That follows another tough day of Pre Final action at the Algarve raceway on Friday. 
 
KC Ensor Smith continued to star in green and gold with a fine third in his high school under 15 Junior Max Pre Final. He will start sixth in Saturday’s Final. KC started third and had to fight back after losing a place mid distance. Pending penalties and points anomalies, South African Junior champion Smith will start the Junior Final on the outside of the third row of the grid.
 
SA DD2 Masters SA champion Eugene Brittz continued on his steady way to qualify ninth for his Final. Multiple former SA DD2 champion and 2022 African Open champion Bradley Liebenberg continued his premier class comeback with another great run from 15th to ninth in his Pre Final. He is set to start 18th in the DD2 Final. SA DD2 runner-up Joseph Oelz finished 14th in that Pre Final and will start the DD2 Final in 28th on Saturday.
 
SA under-11 Micro Max champion Rafael Da Silva had a busy day in his Pre Final. He will line up 25th in his Final on Saturday, while Moosa Kajee will start the battery kart E20 Pre Final in 13th. SA DD2 champion Sebastian Boyd suffered engine trouble and missed the cut. Senior Max duo Shrien Naidoo and Karabo Malamelo, Junior Max lad Wian Boshoff Micro Max duo Caleb Odendaal and Aadam Kajee’s Grand Final campaigns also ended with them dropping out after Saturday’s Pre Finals.
 
Ensor Smith, Brittz, Liebenberg, Oelz,  Da Silva and Kajee will meanwhile fly the green and gold in Saturday’s Finals. Follow the action as it happens, via live streaming, live timing and live results at https://grandfinals.rotax-kart.com.
