The 2024 edition of the National Schools Championships will be hosted by Gauteng at Sturrock Park, from 8-10 August 2024.

A total of 18 provincial teams will be participating in the tournament over the weekend in both girls and boys’ categories.

This tournament is hosted by the South African Football Association (SAFA) in partnership with the Department of Basic Education, Sports, Arts and Culture as well as the SA Schools Sports.

Nine provincial teams (boys and girls) will go head-to head for the title of South African U15 Schools Champions.

The two winning provincial teams will go on to represent South Africa at the African Schools Championships in Namibia from 8 – 10 September 2024, while players who have impressed the SAFA Technical scouts will earn invitations to the next upcoming U15 National Team camp, where they may be identified to join the SAFA Youth Academy for 2025.

The winning two teams will have immense pressure to emulate their predecessors. South Africa has dominated the African Schools Championships with Edendale Technical School winning three consecutive championships, while Clapham High and Ubuntu High Schools have represented the boys section.

All matches will be broadcast on SABC Plus and SuperSport Schools app for the duration of the tournament.
