12 SA Athletes crack World’s Top 10 for 2025

There are 12 different South African athletes who feature in the top 10 best track and field performances in the world for 2025, with three of them being in the men’s 100m and three in the men’s 200m.

There are 12 different South African athletes who feature in the top 10 best track and field performances in the world for 2025, with three of them being in the men’s 100m and three in the men’s 200m.

 

Akani Simbine, Bayanda Walaza and Gift Leotlela have gone under 10 seconds for the sprint, and Simbine’s 9.90 is the fastest in the world so far.

In the 200m, Walaza is joined by Sinesipho Dambile and Naeem Jack in cracking the world top 10.

Other South Africans making their mark on the world stage this year are Zakiti Nene, Tshepo Tshite, Adriaan Wiuldschutt, Sabelo Dhlamini, Prudence Sekgodiso, Dominique Scott and Marione Fourie.
