Snyman wants to see some swagger in Singapore
Philip Snyman captained the Springbok Sevens in a golden era where HSBC SVNS titles and Olympic and Commonwealth Games podium finishes were the order of the day.
As the head coach of the Blitzboks heading into his third tournament at the helm, this weekend in Singapore, one could be skeptical about his optimism for a top-four finish, given the team’s performances so far in the world series.
Their form this season will result in a finish outside of the top six on the log when the series winners will be confirmed at the National Stadium...

The Springbok Women's Sevens showed real grit and determination to win their opening match by 14-12 with a converted try after the hooter against the fourth-ranked USA on Friday morning.
The USA opened the scoring to take a 7-0 lead, but they made the mistake of giving Nadine Roos a sniff, and the experienced playmaker didn't need a second invitation as she sped away from the base of a scrum in the middle of the field to score under the uprights.
Roos converted her own try and the teams took a break with the scores tied at 7-7.
The USA then took the lead again through their...
