30 October 2023 – The South African U17 women’s national team suffered a 0-2 defeat to Morocco in an international friendly match played at the Père Jégo stadium in Casablanca on Monday night. The North Africans scored the opening goal of the match through Mokhtar Jamai when she beat Bantwana goalkeeper Casey Gordon late in the first half. The Moroccans put the game beyond the South Africans when Meyssane Layachi extended the hosts’ lead with a second goal to seal the victory in the 94th minute.
