Chinese Martial Arts School Shines on the World Stage: Bringing Home Medals from 2023 World Kung Fu Championships

Rivonia - In a triumphant display of skill, dedication, and determination, students at the Shuaimeng Liu Martial Arts Centre (SMA Centre) have achieved international recognition by winning medals at the prestigious 9th World Kungfu Championships hosted in Emeishan, China, from the 23rd to the 28th of August 2023, proving once again that the level of training at the centre produces students that are a force to be reckoned with on the global martial arts stage.

The world championships, which brought together elite martial artists from 53 countries, showcased the extraordinary talents of SMA Centre students, as part of the South African Wushu Federation (SAWF) Protea team, who have consistently excelled at the national level. Their impressive performances demonstrated not only their individual prowess but also the high standard of training and instruction.

The SMA Centre has long been a staple of the Rivonia community, offering Chinese Martial Arts - Wushu, Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Combat classes for students of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Led by Head Instructor Shuaimeng Liu, a respected Chinese Martial Arts practitioner with decades of experience, the school has cultivated an environment that promotes discipline, respect, and personal growth, instilling these values in their students both inside and outside the training hall.
