Ruan Bronkhorst claimed his second silver medal of the African Games in Accra when he clinched silver in the new sport of arm wrestling in the +100kg division. On Friday he had won silver in the left arm competition and doubled up with the right arm on Saturday.
With 10 medals having been won on Friday – four each from cycling and triathlon and two from arm wrestling – Team SA started Saturday with a total of 91 medals. They moved to 93 – 25 gold, 30 silver and 38 bronze., when cycling’s mixed team also won silver in the relay. This total has overtaken the total number of medals won by Team SA at the 2019 African Games in Morocco (87).
