Strongman | Rising Star Timeon Jansen van Rensburg Triumphs at South African Log and Deadlift Championships
Kommetjie, Cape Town, South Africa, Timeon Jansen van Rensburg, a 17-year-old natural Strongman athlete, has claimed victory in the South African Log and Deadlift Championships in the Junior Division (under 18) on Saturday, 27 July 2024.
The event, held in Worcester this past weekend, saw participants test their strength in the traditional deadlift and overhead log press.
Record-Breaking Performance
Timeon delivered an outstanding performance, breaking his previous Africa record in the Log Press by lifting an incredible 105kg, surpassing his prior best of 90kg. His impressive feats continued with a remarkable 220kg in the deadlift, showcasing his dedication and strength.
Silver Dollar Deadlift Bonus Event
In addition to the main events, a bonus challenge, the Silver Dollar Deadlift, was added for participants eager to further measure their strength. Timeon excelled in this gruelling test, finishing second after completing eight consecutive Silver Dollar Deadlifts increasing in weight up to a max of 320kg.
Natural Strength and Dedication
What sets Timeon apart is his commitment to being a 100% natural athlete. He does not use any growth enhancers or steroids, relying solely on his natural abilities and rigorous workout routine to build his strength. His dedication to natural strength building and his outstanding achievements at such a young age make him a rising star in the Strongman community.
Past Achievements
At the SA Log & Deadlift Championships in Johannesburg, in March this year, Timeon set his first Africa Record for Log Press at 90kg. He also finished 2nd at the Western Cape Strongest Man competition in Oudtshoorn, in April this year.
Future Goals
Timeon's next goal is to compete in the SA Strongman Championships in October 2024. With his recent successes and unwavering dedication, he is poised to make a significant impact at the national level.
