This could see a call up for Paul to the National Surfing Team soon.
Paul made mention of his sponsors who have backed him in the last year, including the 1977 World Champion Shaun Tomson. He also thanked his small but dedicated team who have helped him in the last year. “It was fantastic to bring young 18-year-old, Jean Claude Morris from the Surfers Lounge in Muizenberg to experience this event,” said Sampson.

Sampson was by far the crowd favourite as 1000’s of Ivorian and Ghanaian fans on the beach sang his name.
Next event is the African Surfing Championships in Liberia from the 20-23 May.
