Richard Das Neves Appointed Head Of High Performance And International Programs At Titans Cricket

Titans Cricket is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard das Neves as the new Head of High-Performance and International Programs on a two-year term, effective immediately.

Richard das Neves

Das Neves has been a pivotal figure within the Titans structure for several seasons, most recently serving as Interim Head Coach of the Momentum Multiply Titans from 30 November 2024, leading the team through a successful 4-Day Series campaign that ended in a shared championship title with the DP World Lions for the 2024/25 season.

Prior to his interim head coaching role, Das Neves held the position of Assistant Coach during the 2023/24 season and made his mark as High-Performance Coach from the 2021/22 season.

Demonstrating his commitment to continuous growth, he also obtained Cricket South Africa’s prestigious Level 4 coaching qualification, the highest available, just five months ago.

Reflecting on his appointment, Das Neves shared what drew him to the role at this stage in his career:

“Although I still have a huge passion for coaching and player development, this opportunity allows me to enhance other skill sets such as planning, strategy, organizing, and setting up long-term structures within our High-Performance setup. It also gives me a chance to contribute to developing the global brand of Titans Cricket.”

The new role will see Das Neves take charge of critical development pathways, ensuring a stronger connection between the pipeline system and the professional men’s and women’s teams, with a particular focus on player identification and the upskilling of emerging talent.

He will also play a leading role in overseeing the Titans International Programs, including the SuperSport Park International Academy, where he will remain involved in coaching and on-field development.

“The link between the pipeline and our senior teams is vital. Coupled with the international program, which is an exciting venture with plenty of scope for growth” Das Neves, continued.

Speaking on the appointment, Titans Cricket CEO Dr Jacques Faul said. “Richard has been an integral part of our system for many years and has consistently demonstrated his ability to develop talent and think long-term. The international programs at Titans Cricket, including our SuperSport Park International Academy, are designed to position the Sky Blues as a global cricket brand. Richard’s leadership in this area will be instrumental in achieving that goal”.

Looking ahead, Das Neves expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m excited to dive into new areas within the union, including the business side of sport, while staying very much connected to coaching and development. I’m especially looking forward to driving the pipeline structures forward and producing more world-class cricketers from our system”.

Titans Cricket congratulates Richard das Neves on his new appointment and looks forward to the continued growth of the High Performance and International Programs under his guidance.
