Sussex, on Saturday, joined Union Stars I at the top of the Six Gun Grill premier league competition table. The home side (244 all out), at D’Almeida, recorded a bonus point 59-run victory against the visitors from Oudtshoorn (185 all out) to move to 44 points and join Union Stars at the top of the table.

For Sussex, Hanno Kotze, a former Garden Route Badgers professional player, posted the highest individual score of the season – 162. Corné Kennedy (4/38) for Union Stars and Rowan Groenewald (4/61 for Sussex) both respectively bagged four wickets.
The defending champions, Pacaltsdorp United (182 all out), suffered a 40 runs defeat against Knysna Cavaliers (228/8). For Cavaliers, Ruan Terblanche posted an elegant 79.
George (195) defeated Union Strs II (138) by 57 runs at the Bridgton Sport Grounds for a bonus point victory. For George De Wet Steyn scored a vital half-century (54) and Shelby Lindeque (4/25) impressed with the ball. Adriaan van der Merwe (60), played a gutsy knock for Union Stars.
