A new champion in the Six Gun Grill SWD premier league competition will be crowned on Saturday.

The defending champion of the past two season, Pacaltsdorp United, was knocked-out by Sussex in the qualifier that was played in front of a record crowd at D’Almeida on Saturday. Sussex will now meet Union Stars in the final at the REC Ground on Saturday 15 March.

Pacaltsdorp, who batted first, was dismissed for 189 with Warren Bell (39) the top run scorer.  Hanno Kotze bagged 3/18 for Sussex. 

 The Sussex run-chase got of to a flyer thanks to Hanno Kotze who scored 44 from 19 balls (3x6, 6x4).  Despite a hat-trick by Warren Bell (3/22) Lindle Trim (39), Johandré Barnard (37) and Dean Lewis (29) kept their cool as the home side surpassed the target (187/8) in the 35th over.
