FINA World Championships: Team SA update (Day 6) The 19th FINA World Championships are under way in Budapest, Hungary. In action on Thursday was Clayton Jimmie in the 50m freestyle where finished 7th in his heat in 22.74 and placed 43rd overall (out of 90 swimmers) and didn’t qualify for the semi-finals. Matthew Sates, who finished 8th in his first World Championships final on Wednesday night, finished 10th in his 100m butterfly heat in 54.17 which placed him 41st (out of 65 swimmers) overall and did not qualify for the final. FINA World Championships: Team SA update (Day 5)  The 19th FINA World Championships are under way in Budapest, Hungary. In action on Wednesday morning was Emma Chelius in the 100m freestyle where she swam a 55.39 for 22nd fastest from the heats. South Africa to host inaugural Men’s Nations Cup! The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has appointed South Africa as the host country for the inaugural FIH Hockey Men’s Nations Cup. The event will take place at the North-West University of Potchefstroom – which successfully hosted the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup in April this year - from 28 November to 4 December 2022. The SA U21 Hockey Mens Squad has been announced SA Hockey U21 Squads Announced South African Hockey has today announced the SA U21 Squads selected on the back of the recent U21 IPT that took place in the Eastern Cape. The squads are the first groups toward the respective 2023 FIH Junior World Cup.
