Mokoena and Reis enjoyed many magic moments in ‘24
The weekend closed a memorable season that included the podium, pole position and star drives along the way.
“We said goodbye to the 2024 ADAC GT Masters season at the Hockenheimring,” Kwanda reflected after bringing his Mercedes-AMG GT3 home in the top ten. “This weekend was a little frustrating after Max was involved in a shunt after qualifying very well in fifth, and I did not get to drive in Saturday’s race. But we came back to finish tenth on Sunday.
“2024 was a most memorable season though. Max and I hit the ground running with a podium third in the opening race of our six-race program at Oschersleben in April. We had a few downs on the way but bounced back every time. I had an excellent race at Spa Francorchamps where I qualified ninth with literally no practice after Max crashed and the team had to rebuild the car overnight and we fought home ninth.
“We had another very good weekend at Spielberg in Austria, where Max put it on pole before handing the car over to me in fourth, and I drove it home to fourth too. “So I have a lot of positives to take home after a thrilling season of racing, where I also learned and grew so much as a driver and competitor.
“I have so many people to thank, not least my parents and my sponsors, my Haupt Racing family and my teammate Max. Not to mention my many fans over here in Europe, and at home in SA, who make every race so much more special. Let’s see what next year brings – onward and upward!”
